Our tours are free to join, "name your price" tour. Our highly rated tour guides are not paid and earn only your tips. At the end of the tour, pay what you think the tour is worth. You have nothing to lose and lots to learn and see.

Are the tours really free?

No, these tours are "name your own price" tours. Since our guides are not paid, they do depend on your tips for their earnings. Pay what you can and what you think the tour is worth. For those that have no intention of paying, please look elsewhere.

Does the tour happen in all weather conditions?

Yes, the tour happens rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for the weather. The guide also knows places along the tour to shield our guests from the elements. Please always check the calendar for updates for the rate times when we cancel tours due to extreme weather conditions.

Where does the tour start, end?

Each tour will have details for meeting locations, duration and distance traveled.

How do I know if the tour will happen?

If you make a reservation at least 1 day ahead for a particular tour, the tour will happen and you'll have a spot on the tour. If we don’t get any reservations 4 hours before the tour, it will be cancelled.

What if I arrive late and miss the group?

Please do not arrive late. We start the tour on time. If you're late, you can to try to find us by looking at the itinerary. However, this may be difficult if you’re unfamiliar with NYC and if there are other tour groups. We recommend you try to arrive at least 5 to 10 minutes early to prevent missing the tour.

Do I need a reservation?

Yes. Reservations are strongly suggested. We try to manage the size of our group and would hate to turn away anyone because we didn’t have additional guides to handle a large group. Also if we don’t receive any reservations 4 hours before a specific tour, our guide would assume no one will be attending and therefore cancel that tour.

Can my large group join the tour?

Yes. Please make a reservation. As a large group you may also want to consider hiring us for a private tour to be done at a time of your convenience.

How much should I pay the guide?

Pay what you think the tour is worth. Other tour companies charge $20 to $35 for a 90 minute tour; $35 to $45 for a 2 hour tour and $70 to $90 of a 6 hour tour. If you like the experience, your tour guide will certainly appreciate your generosity. This is how we make our living and appreciate your support.
